Dr. Donald Lindberg, 85, Dies; Opened Medical Research to the World

Kristen Sparrow • September 03, 2019

I can’t even imagine being able to work and research without the National Library of Medicine.  I do remember the dark ages in Med School and Residency when we had to go to the stacks and research article by article, and make notes.  Now, as the article says, people in back waters as well as in the offices of Nobel Prize Winners can read, at least, abstracts of the latest research.  We can argue about whether more is better, but certainly for those of us who just love science, it’s incredible “entertainment”.  RIP.
