Kentucky Versus Tennessee Covid 19: Why Policy Matters

For those who are interested in actual data, there is a real time study showing how the policies recommended by the experts, when put into place, make a difference in outcomes. Granted, I’m no expert and also granted that we don’t really have enough good data to know because of lack of testing, but I need to share this nonetheless.

This graph shows how Kentucky’s Governor Beshear instituted measures (in dark blue squares)  state of emergency on March 6th,to impose social distancing March 7th, schools close March 11, March 16th closes bars and restaurants.  So look at the number of cases, Kentucky dark blue and Tennessee dark orange.  Kentucky testing is in light blue, Tennessee in light orange. By March 20th, Tennessee had 228 cases, Kentucky 48. So per capita Tennessee has 2 million more inhabitants, 6.77 million to 4.47 million in Kentucky, but still…
