Flexibility

Flexibility

It has been said that where there is flexibility there is no arthritis.  Not sure if that really holds up, but it’s the least we can do to mitigate wear and tear on joints.

Suggestions for Flexibility

Pick the Right Exercise

While pilates and yoga concentrate on building strength and flexibility, yoga is generally regarded as having a deeper focus on increasing the range of joint motion. “Within the physical movements, there are lots of opportunities to elongate the muscles,” says Chris Magee, head of yoga at Psycle London. Tai chi loosens muscles and stretches the whole body. It is especially useful for people with limited mobility, recovering from injury or balance problems as it can be adapted to suit a range of abilities.
