Bryan Johnson. No Silver Bullet for Longevity

Bryan Johnson. No Silver Bullet for Longevity

Bryan Johnson with test tubeI’ve blogged about this guy, Bryan Johnson here and here.  I did a YouTube here.  Longevity insights 2025   Another video with the Kardashians and Bryan Johnson (and Andrew Huberman…).

Naturally, my philosophy is quite different from that of Bryan Johnson.  His experiment was interesting and he made money off of it, (no judgment, this is America).  There is not reason to think that his regimen (including blood transfusions from his son)  led to his diagnosis of autoimmuni gastritis.  But it was extreme, with a reduced quality of life.  I wouldn’t have thought it was sustainable, but then, humans adjust to many, many situations.

He was transparent in his regimen.  He fully revealed that he gave up rapamycin because his numbers were adversely affected, and that might have helped thousands of people who were taking it, by them getting off it. He’s also candid talking about his current diagnosis.

It saddens me somehow, even though it does validate the philosophy of Dr. One, to first avoid any harm.

Millionaire biohacker Bryan Johnson has hit a major obstacle in his yearslong quest to “defeat death.”

The 48-year-old tech entrepreneur, who rose to fame for chronicling his extreme health routine curated to reduce his biological age, announced on social media last week that he has been diagnosed with an incurable autoimmune disease.

“My stomach is eating itself,” Johnson wrote in a June 30 post on X. He explained that he has autoimmune gastritis, in which his immune system mistakenly attacks the healthy cells in his stomach lining.
