Welcome! I am a traditionally trained physician with Board Certification in both Anesthesiology and Pediatrics. So why do I do Acupuncture? Because it can alleviate conditions not always well treated by Western Medicine (acupuncture cured me of my allergies) and do it safely. And while traditional medicine and surgery can lead to side effects or other problems, acupuncture can give added benefits in terms of better sleep, better mood, less illness because of improved immunity and maybe even longer life!
I’d love to help you with health issues that you might be having.
First, Do No Harm
The words of the Hippocratic oath repeated by all physicians on entering into practice are to “first, do no harm.” Acupuncture fits that principle perfectly. My blog explores some of the hazards of traditional medical choices that have come to light in the news, health tips, and recent acupuncture research.
Bridge Between Western and Eastern and Western Medicine:
I went to Medical School at Tulane, then did a Pediatrics Residency at UCLA and then an Anesthesiology Residency at UC Irvine and practiced in San Francisco as an Anesthesiologist for 11 years. I can help patients make sense of their lab test results and imaging studies. My research is focused on the fascinating issue of stress and how acupuncture can help. I think that as medical practitioners, we need to keep an open mind; there is so much we don’t know and can’t explain in health, healing, and longevity.
